In the past, only companies with large amounts of money could produce TV shows, but things have changed! At BCTV, we proudly offer state-of-the-art equipment for you to produce your own television show, at no cost! We'd be glad to help explain all there is to know about public access cable television. In addition to training you on use of equipment, show planning and pre-production, actual shooting, and post-production, we'll familiarize you with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as BCTV's By-Laws, Policies, Rules & procedures.
If you have an idea for a program that is non-commercial and of interest to Branford residents, you can become a producer. No prior experience is needed, only a desire to learn. We conduct several hands-on training sessions throughout the year. The "Basic Video Production" workshop covers pre-production, on location shooting, studio productions and post-production. We'll train you how to use a video camera, an editing console and other production equipment.
If you have a group or crew of people who want to be trained together, special arrangements can be made.
Imagine - television production training at no cost using state of the art equipment. We encourage you to produce your own ideas and interests as programs for cablecasting on BCTV's community access channels.

Cub Scout tours!
Recently, some Branford Cub Scouts had the opportunity to tour the BCTV studios, seeing BCTV's new, upgraded, HD television production equipment. The Scouts learned about the many facets of TV production, seeing the Studio, Control Rooms, and editing suites. Parents of the Scouts accompanied their children on the tour. The Scouts favorite part of the tour was in the studio, doing mock weather forecasts against BCTV's chromakey (green screen) wall.
